I pursued economic and statistical analysis of the marine sector (fisheries and aquaculture) mainly in Martinique, but also for Dominica, Barbados, St Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago. At the same time I started
my Ph D research by collecting information and statistics on the Caribbean economies and labor markets,
analyzing it and doing theoretical surveys.

I joined a research team on two main subjects : a comparative analysis of structural adjustment between
Sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia ; and related to this an analysis of the determinants of product
competitivity (rubber, cotton), distinguishing between macro-determinants (exchange rate, fiscal issues,
cost of living…) and traditional micro-ones (labor productivity, wages).
